Description
This lab shows how concert lighting transforms floral color, sheen, and texture so you can design for the camera and the balcony. You will analyze swatches under gels, LEDs, and follow spots to predict color drift and metamerism. Demonstrations compare satin ribbons, matte leaves, and lacquered containers to control glare on livestreams. We explore white balance settings from broadcast trucks and how they influence perceived flower tones. You receive a printable color test chart and a methodology for pre‑rig checks with the LD. Assignments involve building mood boards for classical, pop, and EDM palettes with safe contrasts. The lab explains bloom varieties that hold chroma under magenta or cyan washes. A camera module covers exposure latitude and how to avoid crushed blacks in moody scenes. You will build a small prototype using simulated lighting captures to validate choices. By completion, your designs will read beautifully to the eye, on phones, and on big screens.
